Shawn has long been dedicated to developing the next generation of architects through thoughtful mentorship, technical expertise, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed. Whether mentoring emerging professionals one-on-one, sharing his career journey through AIA Columbus’s Stories of Architects program, or leading educational tours of the Hilton Tower expansion and the new WOSU headquarters, Shawn consistently creates opportunities for architects to learn and grow. He also served as a mentor in AIA Columbus’s ARCHway leadership and mentorship program, where his guidance extended well beyond the formal program.
As noted in AIA Columbus’s nomination, Shawn’s influence is measured not only by the programs he has led, but by the confidence, knowledge, and leadership he has inspired in countless architects and designers. His generosity, patience, and belief in paying mentorship forward have strengthened both our chapter and the profession as a whole.
