AIA Columbus proudly congratulates Brett Wedding, AIA, on being named the recipient of the 2026 AIA Ohio Emerging Professionals Award. Presented annually by AIA Ohio, the award recognizes an emerging architect who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, and commitment to advancing the profession.
Brett has made a remarkable impact at the local, state, and national levels through his dedication to creating opportunities for connection, mentorship, and professional growth. As the founder and chair of the AIA Columbus LGBTQIA+ Alliance, he has built a welcoming and supportive community while expanding networking and educational opportunities for members. Under his leadership, the Alliance has also proudly participated in the Columbus Stonewall Pride March for the past three years.
Brett has also championed programs that connect students, emerging professionals, and experienced architects, including Wine and Networking with the Fellows, How to Start a Firm Speed Networking, and the AIAS + AIA Columbus Networking Picnic. His leadership extends beyond our chapter through service on the AIA Ohio Board of Directors and serving as Chair of the AIA National Associates Committee, where he advocated for emerging professionals across the country.
