On September 12, three AIA Columbus board members—President Hannah Evwaraye, Treasurer Dan Hanes, and Director Kevin Parzych—represented our chapter at the City of Columbus/MORPC/ULI Columbus summit “What Good Is Growth If It’s Not for All? Planning Columbus Today and Tomorrow.”
The event brought together planners, developers, civic leaders, and design professionals to discuss how Central Ohio can manage rapid growth while ensuring equity, housing affordability, and inclusive community development. Sessions explored topics such as zoning reform, transit and infrastructure as catalysts for development, innovative financing, and cross-sector partnerships.
By participating, our board members gained valuable insights into how architects can help shape policy and projects that support a more equitable and sustainable Columbus—knowledge they will bring back to inform AIA Columbus initiatives.
