Join AIA Columbus for a presentation on the 2025 AIA Columbus Architecture Award–winning Dean-Haidet Residence, located in Rush Creek Village in Worthington—an iconic National Trust neighborhood known for its Wright-inspired Usonian homes.
The Dean-Haidet Residence thoughtfully responds to the unique planning principles of Rush Creek Village, where homes are carefully sited to maintain privacy while allowing the natural landscape to flow continuously through the neighborhood. The design takes advantage of the site’s natural topography, capturing expansive westward views toward Rush Run while orienting the home eastward toward a serene, tree-lined meadow.
Praised by the AIA Columbus Architecture Awards jury for its clarity, rigor, and exceptional design execution, the project demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of proportion, materiality, and context. Meticulous detailing and the seamless integration of interior and exterior spaces result in a residence that is both quietly confident and deeply responsive to its surroundings.
In this session, the design team will share the design process, site strategies, and detailing that shaped this award-winning home, offering insight into how thoughtful architecture can elevate the experience of living within a historic neighborhood.
