Presented by the Academy of Architecture for Health
Before any project can move from the design phase into construction, every detail must be carefully considered and resolved. This principle holds true across all project types, but in Mental and Behavioral Health (MBH) spaces, attention to detail is a critical step in the success of the project. Every aspect—from product selection to installation and ongoing maintenance—directly influences the health, safety, and welfare of individuals who interact with these environments. In this presentation, we will focus on the critical roles of installation and long-term maintenance in MBH spaces, exploring why they matter and how to set expectations for a successful transition from construction to patient care. Every detail in the installation and maintenance of MBH spaces contributes to the overarching mission: to create environments that support healing, safety, and well-being for all who enter.
We can create spaces that foster better mental health futures for everyone, everywhere.
