Architectural Project Manager - Posted May 3, 2012

Lawhon (L&A), one of the leaders in hazardous material and environmental consulting services in the Midwest, has an opportunity for both junior and senior individuals to join our hazardous material practice. The candidates will contribute to a variety of projects including, but not limited to: hazardous materials surveys, remediation design and oversight. Many of our projects require quick response and occasional travel to job sites outside of Central Ohio. Hazardous materials projects also involve overnight or extended travel to job sites. 

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will quickly assume responsibility for developing proposals, designing and conducting projects, and preparing reports for clients. It is also anticipated that the successful candidate will rapidly become proficient in conducting and managing hazardous materials projects. 

The successful candidate will have the following skills: work both as part of a team and independently; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to organize and interpret detailed information; keen observational skills; and competent in the use of Microsoft Office Products. 

Educational background: minimum of a bachelor degree in Architecture, Engineering of the Sciences. Architects with 2-3 years experience are encouraged to apply. 

Familiarity with building construction, building materials, asbestos, lead-based paint surveys and remediation are required. Individuals with the Asbestos Evaluation Specialist and/or Asbestos Project Designer certification will also be considered.

Intern Architect/Production Assistant - Posted April 17, 2012

Small Columbus architectural office seeks motivated team member to support the design and construction of multiple commercial and institutional renovation projects ranging from less than $1 million to over $10 million in size. The position is full time (minimum 40 hours/week) with benefits. 

Candidate requirements:

  • Minimum two (2) years' experience preparing CAD construction documents in offices that focus on commercial/institutional buildings
  • Experience using Revit on a commercial project
