Alex Wilson Biography:

Alex Wilson Headshot

For more than 30 years, Alex Wilson has been a trusted voice on energy efficiency, green building,
     and now resilience.
He founded BuildingGreen, Inc. in 1985 and served for many years as editor of
     Environmental Building News (now
the BuildingGreen Report), which began publication in 1992. He
built the reputation, resources and staff that today makes
BuildingGreen a leading information company
in the green building field and a highly regarded consulting firm serving
the needs of businesses and
institutions nationwide. While still working part-time for BuildingGreen, in early 2012 Alex
launched the
nonprofit Resilient Design Institute to provide practical solutions for enhancing the resilience of buildings
and communities. In 2014-15, he led an effort to develop a suite of LEED pilot credits on resilient design
     that were
approved in late-2015. He was the 2008 recipient of the USGBC Leadership Award for Education and in 2010 became the second recipient of the Hanley Award for Vision and Leadership in Sustainability.
